Parish
Council
At the recent Parish Council meeting Councillors received
a report on the first Youth Forum and discussed the proposed
safety improvements for the A.1088. Quotations for new street
lighting provisions were also requested. Concerns have been
raised with regard to cyclists not using lights on their bicycles.
Please make sure you can be seen at this time of year. Enclosed
with this Newsletter is a small leaflet from the Environmental
Health Services giving details of the law concerning dog fouling.
Please help us to make our villages a safe and pleasant place
for walkers by keeping the paths and verges free from dog
fouling. The next meeting of the Parish Council will take
place on the 15th January 2007 at 7.30pm in the School Hall.

The Councillors would like to wish you all a Very Happy Christmas
and a Peaceful 2007.

18 members attended our Annual Meeting held at the Village
Hall on the 14th November. The business of the meeting included
the election of our president for the coming year and Patricia
Fojut was re-elected for a second term of office. The next
12 months will be the 60th year of the Women's Institute in
Honington and Sapiston. After the business, we were able to
buy from the trading stall and enjoy some delicious refreshments
prepared by committee members. Presentations of prizes took
place to the winners of the monthly competitions for 2006
with Jacky Holland coming first and Marion Cusworth second.
Josie Goddard won the Cath Balaam Memorial Cup for her handmade
Christmas Card, beating eight other entries. We will be going
out to The Gardener's Arms in Tostock for our Christmas meal
on the 12th December. We wish all members and friends a Very
Happy Christmas and hope that new residents and old friends
will make 2007 the year when you join the WI for fun, friendship
and education. DA
Over Sixties Club
At our meeting on the 2nd November approximately 17 members
were at the village hall for our usual social get together
and raffle, followed by tea and cakes. Numbers were down on
the 16th due to holidays and the very persistent rain, however
those who made it to the meeting had an enjoyable game of
bingo followed by tea and cake. May I remind you that our
Christmas Lunch will be at The Fox on the 7th December and
on the 21st, at the Village Hall there will be Christmas tea
followed by Albert's Squares. KK
Suffolk Historic Churches
Trust Bicycle Ride
This year we raised £328.50, half of which will come
to Honington and Sapiston churches. This is an amazing amount
considering that we only had three walkers/riders. £221
was raised by the walkers/riders and £107.50 by the
recorders who sat in the churches. The PCC is very grateful
to everyone who took part or who helping in any way. Claire
