Honington & Sapiston Parish Council
The next Parish Council Meeting is on the 20th November at 7.30pm in Honington School Hall. LP

Over Sixties Club
Seventeen members joined Barnham Over Sixties on the 5th October for an afternoon of nostalgic songs from the 50s and 60s, sung by Alan Jewell, with the more energetic amongst us getting up to dance as well as singing along. As always, a sumptuous tea followed and a really enjoyable time was had, thanks to the 'ladies who cook' in Barnham. On the 19th we met for lunch once again at the Dun Cow, Bardwell, where the roast lunch was superb and much appreciated by all - we then had a game of bingo and a raffle to which Alan, the landlord, had kindly added a bottle of wine and box of chocolates to the prizes. The next meetings will be at the Village Hall on the 2nd and 16th November at 2.00pm as summertime will have ended. KK
The Over Sixties Club are once again selling £1 lucky squares, with lots of prizes, to be drawn on Thursday 21st December. If you would like to purchase any squares please contact Albert Lambert in Sapiston. MC

Honington School News
The children have been busy learning songs about Harvest and Autumn and would like to invite you to join us for a Mini-Concert at 2.00pm on the 6th November. We will also be delighted to give you your Harvest gifts at the same time. Many thanks to those of you who came and supported our recent jumble sale and for the Tesco vouchers that you have given us. The children will enjoy using the items we are able to get in exchange for the vouchers. BB

Ixworth Patients' Association
The AGM takes place on Thursday 16th November at 7.00pm for 7.30pm in Ixworth Village Hall. It will be followed by a talk and discussion entitled "Winter Warmers" by a medical herbalist and Dr Nick Harpur - this will start at 8.00pm. We need a new Village Representative for Honington and Sapiston. If you think you might be interested, please phone me for more details. I look forward to welcoming lots of you to the AGM, please come along and support us. Avery Triggs (Chairman) 01359 269613

Good Neighbours Scheme
We welcome Dr Giles Smith to our team of volunteers and he is willing to do small DIY jobs. We have had a call this month to help take wood to the bonfire. Don't forget we are here if you need us. No task is too small. Call on 07950 930981 or 268165. RW

Neighbourhood Watch
Please remember to lock your cars when you leave them outside your property day and night. Don't leave anything inside, particularly in view. Several cars were broken into in Sapiston on Friday night (27th of October) and contents stolen. This follows a spate of similar crimes in Barningham. If you see anything suspicious, dial 999 immediately. Prompt action could help us catch the thieves. Marilyn Williams 268165

Bottle Bank at the Village Hall
The Bottle Bank is a community facility and we all benefit from the income generated by re-cycling our glass. If the bank is full, anyone may call St Edmundsbury on 01284 763233, ask for "Recycling" and they will arrange for it to be emptied. RW

Affordable Housing
The project is progressing. RW

W.I.
There was a good attendance at our October meeting. President Patricia Fojut was in the chair and Margaret Ridgwell was acting secretary. We welcomed our speaker Rosemary Jacob from Brandon who gave us an entertaining insight into her 27 years as a Newsagent. The Halloween arrangement competition was won by Josie Goddard. Our November meeting will be the Annual Meeting at 7.30pm on the 14th November, when the competition for the Cath Balaam Memorial Cup is to make a Christmas Card. DA

With our friends at RAF Honington in active service in several hostile zones at the moment the appeal takes on even more poignancy. The Minibus will be available for the Pre-Christmas Coffee Morning at Euston Hall on Friday 17th November and the shop will be open with Christmas goodies and crafts - and the fire will be lit! The Minibus will leave The Fox at 9.45am and stop at Honington Village Green, Sapiston Bus Stop and Fakenham Magna Bus Stop. Please reserve your seat with Sean.
We now have a Lending Library up and running in the dining room of The Fox - it is a donate and take facility and includes a selection of recommended RaW Quick Reads. Church News
We had a lovely service on the 15th October when our new stained glass window was dedicated by our Archdeacon David Brierley and Pippa Blackall told us about how she had designed and made it.
