A very big thank you to all those people who helped in the
Tea Tent on what was one of the hottest days this year. We
made a profit of over £1,000 so give yourselves a pat
on the back.. Thanks again - see you next year!

Honington & Sapiston Parish Council
Affordable Housing in Honington & Sapiston. There will
be a presentation and briefing in the Village Hall on 20th
July between 3.00 and 7.00pm to give details of the proposed
development on Troston Road. Plans will be available for viewing
and there will be representatives from the Housing Trust and
St Edmundsbury Borough Council, plus members of the Parish
Council, to answer any questions. The St Edmundsbury representative
will be able to take details of residents of Honington and
Sapiston who are interested in registering for one of the
dwellings, as villagers will have priority for occupation.
Light refreshments will be provided by members of the Parish
Council
The next meeting of the Parish Council
will take place on Monday 17th July at 7.30pm in Honington
School Hall. LP
Over Sixties Club
Attendance at our meeting on 1st June was down due to holidays
and other commitments but we enjoyed the games of bingo and
cards, together with tea and a chat. I am reliably informed,
as I was unable to attend our meeting on the 15th, that numbers
were once again around 16, all of whom enjoyed the usual games
and tea. Syd's Coffee Morning on the 20th was very successful
and it was lovely to see so many friendly faces enjoying the
coffee and cakes and items on the bring and buy stall. If
any members have not booked their lunch for 12.30pm at The
Fox on the 6th July, please contact Marion on 269492. Our
meeting in July are on the 6th for lunch at The Fox and on
the 20th July at 2.30pm in the Village Hall. KK
Ixworth Patients' Association
We need more drivers, particularly in the Honington area,
to enable us to continue our service of transporting people
to Ixworth Surgery. Have you your own car, a clean driving
licence and could you spare the odd hour to help? If the answer
to these questions is "Yes", then please get in
touch with me. You are telephoned the previous day with a
request and asked if it is convenient. We pay 40p per mile
towards petrol and running expenses. If you can help, please
ring Avery Triggs, Chairman of IPA, on 269613.

Both our president and treasurer celebrated their birthdays
last month and were presented with posies. When our speaker,
Sadasa, arrived, accompanied by one of her students, a very
wet evening was enlivened by their performance of some middle-eastern
dancing. Next month's meeting takes place at the Village Hall
on the 11th July when Grant Elliott will explain why 'Monopoly
is More Than a Game'. The competition is for a single colour
flower arrangement and the roll call is an alphabet of games.

Neighbourhood Watch
A Nation Don't Drink & Drive campaign began on the 5th
June and during the first 10 days 29 motorists were dealt
with in Suffolk for driving over the legal limit. As part
of this campaign Suffolk Constabulary would like to hear from
you if you have information about anyone who endangers the
safety of others by driving whilst over the safe drink or
drug limit. You should call 01473 613500 with details. Thieves
are targeting your pets, especially those left in cars in
supermarket car parks, and dogs have been stolen from outside
Tesco's in Thetford and Bury St Edmunds. Now that the light
nights are here, make sure you lock away your gardening equipment.
