Over Sixties Club
Our meeting on the 1st December was well attended and the
usual good company. On Wednesday members were invited to a
preview of "Stable Story" at Honington School, which
was a treat to watch. On the 8th December about 30 members
and guests, including the Duchess of Grafton and Sally &
Tim Fogden, enjoyed a superb 3-course Christmas meal, thanks
to Carole Hubbard from Walsham le Willows. The Hall was very
festive and the tables looked lovely. After the excellent
meal we were entertained by our very own "Tombola Jo"
and "Syd Squit", who treated us to a series of truly
hilarious sketches and amusing poems - thank you to all those
who worked so hard to give us a really enjoyable afternoon.
Some of our members were also invited to Christmas lunch at
RAF Honington, which I am told they thoroughly enjoyed. They
were very well entertained by "the lads" and also
met 2 Chelsea Pensioners and Father Christmas who gave them
each a lovely present. On the 15th December we all met in
the Village Hall and enjoyed Bingo and tea, followed by "Albert's
Squares" - our thanks to Albert for all his hard work.
Our meetings in January are on the 5th and 19th and on the
26th there is a Bangers & Mash Supper, details of which
can be obtained from Marion Cusworth.

The Fox Inn News
Planning Permission has been approved for the proposed extension
to The Fox Inn and it is hoped that building work will start
on 1t March. Disruption will be kept to a minimum, but please
bear with us. Slight trading adjustments will be notified
as the need arises.
The Christmas Draw raised £145 for the Village Hall
Children's Spring Craft Workshop. Thanks to all who donated
prizes and support.
Our December/January fundraiser is for "Jacob's Appeal".
Jacob is an East Harling boy with special needs due to quadriplegia.
The fund is to help provide specialist equipment and adaptations
to his home. Our in-house Jockey Club Christmas Draw has already
raised £120 plus a further £37 from The Fox Minibus
Bucket. Please pop in to The Fox for more information. This
Appeal needs our wholehearted support and the counter bucket
will be out until the end of January.

Church News
Our churches looked so wonderful for Christmas and the Services
were very special - on this my last Christmas as your Vicar,
I found myself looking back to my first Christmas here 21
years ago and remembering all those in between - each year
I am sure I have said how wonderful Christmas was because
each year this has been so. Thank you for all those special
memories.
Thank you too for your generosity with your donations for
Tools With a Mission - we have been delighted with the amount
- a real gift for those in the third world who can really
make use of them.
So on to January (I haven't gone yet - not until the end of
February!) There will be special services for the Epiphany
on the 8th January and then on the following Sunday we shall
be having a Family Service for Plough Sunday - ploughs of
all sizes could make it a very special service when we pray
for the work on the land. Wishing you all a Very Happy New
Year Sally Fogden
